Job summary

St. Michael’s Hospital Avera is seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging coverage as needed, supporting weekday and weekend call requirements. The role focuses on performing X-ray procedures, patient positioning, and strict adherence to safety and infection control standards.

The ideal candidate is ARRT-certified or eligible, with CT certification and/or experience preferred, and committed to maintaining quality imaging and patient care within a team environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Must be eligible for ARRT certification.
• CT certification and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic X-ray procedures according to established protocols.
• Ensure quality imaging and patient safety.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for exams.
• Follow radiation safety and infection control standards.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Document procedures accurately in EHR/PACS.
• Handle paperwork, filing and other office tasks per department policies.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to support patient care.
• Stay current with radiology technology trends and procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs diagnostic X-ray procedures according to establish protocols.
• Ensure quality imaging and patient safety.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for exams.
• Follow radiation safety and infection control standards.
• Keeps the work area clean and orderly.
• Document procedures accurately in EHR/PACS
• Handles the necessary paperwork, filing and other office procedures in accordance with department policies.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to support patient care.
• Keeps current with the latest trends in technology and radiological procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and professional appearance and conduct.

EDUCATION

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Licensed by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists or current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Must be eligible for ARRT certification. CT certification and/or experience preferred.
