Job summary

Avera Milbank Area Hospital invites applications for a radiologic technologist to perform radiology and CT exams with accuracy and patient safety. You will operate radiology equipment, ensure high quality images, and support radiologists in interpretation, while adhering to protocols and confidentiality.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to move health forward. Required education includes an accredited associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology and ARRT

• Associate's degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program
• ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology within 60 days

Responsibilities

• Perform radiology and CT procedures accurately and efficiently
• Initiate intervention to radiologist when an exam requires attention
• Review indications for exams and report inappropriate indications to supervisor
• Archive images to PACS and send to radiologist group
• Assist with training staff and students as needed

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewAccountable for the proficient operations of the radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians.What you will doPerforms various radiology procedures accurately, efficiently and according to established standards and protocols.Initiates proper intervention to radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention.Reviews appropriate indications for exams ordered and reports inappropriate indications to supervisor.Provides exam data in a complete and accurate format for presentation to reading radiologist for interpretation.Utilizes computer systems such as PACS, RIS, HIS EMR systems and performs general clerical duties.Archives image data for permanent storage and appropriately sends images to radiologist group. Retrieves stored images form PACS or disc back-up and make CDs successfully.Demonstrates an understanding of medical and legal implications and responsibilities related to the imagine reports and images to protect the patient and the organization.Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, and environment and infection control.Assists/mentors staff/student with on the job training, clinical rotations and orientation.Assists with analysis, collection and maintenance of records as required by department manager, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR standards, OSHA guidelines or as may be required by the facility or law.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
