MedStar Health is looking for a Radiology Technologist to join our Urgent Care team!
As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform clinical and administrative duties in MedStar Health settings, consistent with policies & procedures. You will work under the supervision of a physician, performing patient intake, standing orders or protocols, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up. You may also administer oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications when ordered by a provider, after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or designee. Certified Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) as Radiologic Technologists also perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images. This position involves documenting appropriately in the medical record and supporting optimal patient flow.

Primary Duties:
- Adhere to MedStar Health's Code of Conduct and Compliance plan; comply with governmental and accreditation guidelines, completing all scheduled training including safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, general compliance, harassment, and service.
- Clean, stock, sterilize equipment, and prepare patient rooms for care delivery.
- Deliver patient care with high regard for safety and quality, embracing new technology and use of electronic health records.
- Manage patient flow with consistent communication, perform testing such as spirometry/PFTs, patient vitals, BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under supervision.
- Perform venipuncture and selected point-of-care laboratory testing; initiate care pathways as per policy.
- Perform X-rays according to medical provider orders, forward images for overreads, and maintain X-ray equipment adhering to safety standards.
- Promote a respectful atmosphere, communicate professionally, and support patient and team needs.
- Provide care aligned with MedStar's mission, vision, and values, aiming to exceed patient expectations and improve the care experience.
- Support team members during downtime, participate in basic computer and patient intake tasks, and assist in patient examination, testing, and education. Under supervision, prepare and administer medications and injections, demonstrating competency.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree.
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
- Preferred: 2 years of medical office experience.
- ARRT Certification.
- State license for Maryland, Virginia, or DC.
- BLS certification.
