Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center is seeking a Radiology Technologist PRN to operate standard and portable X-ray equipment, ensuring patient safety and high-quality images. You will collaborate with Radiologists to interpret results while maintaining exacting aseptic and safety standards.

You must have an AMA-accredited Radiography program and ARRT registration or registry eligibility, with BCLS completed within 30 days of start. This PRN role supports a busy department with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Must be ARRT Registered or Registry eligible (registered within one year of program completion).
  • Must comply with ARRT continuing education requirements: 24 credits bi-annually.
  • BCLS (Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and perform X-ray exams per established safety protocols.
  • Develop and process radiographs and transmit to Radiologist for interpretation.
  • Administer contrast media within scope of practice and regulations and ensure image quality in PACS.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Radiology Technologist operates standard, portable, and specialized X‑ray equipment to perform routine and semi‑complex radiographic examinations used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment. What you will do in this role:
  • You will prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x‑rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • You will develop and process films and transmit to a Radiologist for interpretation.
  • You will administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • You will ensure prompt transfer of images and documents to PACS system (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • You will turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment.
  • You will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Must be a graduate of an AMA accredited program with a certificate or degree in Radiographic Technology.
  • Should adhere to ARRT guidelines of obtaining 24 continuing education credits bi‑annually.
  • Must be ARRT Registered with ARRT – RT(R) or Registry eligible (must be registered within one year of completing program).
  • BCLS required within 30 days of start date.
