Altus Community Healthcare is seeking a Radiology Technologist in Eagle Pass, Texas. The ideal candidate will operate radiographic equipment and produce CT scans according to protocol while ensuring patient safety. Responsibilities also include initiating IVs and monitoring patient reactions.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and have at least 2 years of relevant experience. Current State Licensure and BCLS Certification are required.
The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, according to the Physician and Radiologist protocols. They will position patients and examination tables to obtain optimum views of specified body areas. They will practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle, using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding to maximize protection for patient and staff.
Radiology Technologists are responsible for operating CAT SCAN equipment to produce Computed Tomography (CT) scans of the body for diagnostic purposes, under the Physician’s and Radiologist’s protocol. They administer and consent for contrast IV and oral, monitor for reactions and side effects, and complete all required paperwork and documentation. The primary goal is patient safety and diagnostic quality. Additional patient‑care duties include initiating IVs, drawing blood, operating lab testing equipment, running patient samples, changing beds, cleaning rooms, and stocking linens.
