Job summary

Altus Community Healthcare is seeking a Radiology Technologist in Eagle Pass, Texas. The ideal candidate will operate radiographic equipment and produce CT scans according to protocol while ensuring patient safety. Responsibilities also include initiating IVs and monitoring patient reactions.

Job description

Summary

The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, according to the Physician and Radiologist protocols. They will position patients and examination tables to obtain optimum views of specified body areas. They will practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle, using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding to maximize protection for patient and staff.

Description

Radiology Technologists are responsible for operating CAT SCAN equipment to produce Computed Tomography (CT) scans of the body for diagnostic purposes, under the Physician’s and Radiologist’s protocol. They administer and consent for contrast IV and oral, monitor for reactions and side effects, and complete all required paperwork and documentation. The primary goal is patient safety and diagnostic quality. Additional patient‑care duties include initiating IVs, drawing blood, operating lab testing equipment, running patient samples, changing beds, cleaning rooms, and stocking linens.

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • At least 2 years of radiologic/imaging experience, including CT experience
Language / Math / Reasoning Ability
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information effectively one‑on‑one and in small groups.
  • Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure and manipulate fractions and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; interpret bar graphs.
  • Apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; solve problems involving multiple concrete variables in standard situations.
