Job summary

AdventHealth Ocala is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join a full-time team. Responsibilities include performing radiology exams, positioning patients, and ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to infection control standards. The role requires BLS certification and ARRT RT(R) registration, with 2+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires associate or higher education in radiography or related field.
• 2+ years of radiology experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) ARRRT) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiology examinations in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Position patients and equipment to produce diagnostically useful images.
• Follow infection control standards and PPE usage; maintain clean, stocked rooms.
• Document patient history and explain procedures; monitor patient condition and comfort.

Job Description

• Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents.
• Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.
• Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
• Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Obtains and documents patient history and explain procedures.
• Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Performs all imaging exams using established protocols and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.
• Uses facility policy for proper identification of patients prior to performing exams and educates patients concerning the exam.
• Screens patients properly for any contrast allergies and for childbearing age, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Positions patients and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist’s standards in a safe, timely manner.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]
• Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]

Education

• Associate [Preferred]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]

Work Experience

• 2+ years experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]
