Position Summary
Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.
Qualifications
Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure/Certification: Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida, valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, and current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
- Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor conducive to quality care.
- Delivers appropriate care, recognizing patient conditions, and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
- Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations for each modality.
- Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
- Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
- Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
- Performs proper patient identification, acquires clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation.
- Positions patient and equipment, manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images.
- Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and correct patient identification.
- Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
- Participates in Quality Control standards and tasks.
- Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration and manages adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Uses standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
- Supervises student technologists and trains new technologists.
- Utilizes all radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Ensures safety for all customers.
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance per policies and standards.
- Complies with all policies, guidelines, and education requirements of Orlando Health.
