Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform x-ray scans and support physicians in diagnosis. This PRN/per diem role includes rotating shifts, including weekdays and weekends, with an 8-week training period for per diem staff.

You will ensure patient care and safety, operate RIS/PACS systems, maintain equipment, and stay compliant with radiation safety standards while protecting patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• ARRT program graduate or current ARRT in Radiology Technology (R); CT preferred.
• Knowledge of RIS and PACS platforms and workflows.
• BLS certification required; state license as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors and staff according to Jefferson values.
• Positions radiographic equipment to obtain quality images for diagnosis.
• Explains procedures to patients and gathers accurate history.
• Communicates effectively with patients throughout procedures.
• Protects staff and patients per radiation safety standards with shields.
• Monitors and enforces local, state and national imaging regulations.
• Maintains x-ray equipment with routine cleaning and testing; documents results.
• Maintains patient and study data for billing and RIS/PACS accuracy; protects confidentiality.
• Performs other technologist duties as assigned by lead or manager, including QA.
• Keeps up with continuing education requirements for licensure.
