Radiology Technologist (Per Diem) - Montgomery Campus

Job Summary: The Radiology Technologist performs x-ray scans of patients' internal anatomy to assist physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. Ensures radiologic services comply with relevant laws and regulations, and provides consultation to patients and radiology professionals. Delivers patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, upholding Jefferson's values.
  • Properly position radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce detailed images aiding diagnosis and treatment.
  • Explain radiographic procedures to patients and obtain relevant medical history.
  • Communicate effectively with patients.
  • Ensure staff and patient safety by following radiation safety standards, including shielding.
  • Adhere to local, state, and national regulations, standards, and clinical protocols.
  • Maintain x-ray equipment through scheduled cleaning and testing, documenting results.
  • Update and maintain patient and study records ensuring billing and RIS/PACS accuracy, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors, including quality assurance tasks.
  • Maintain continuing education for licensure and job requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an approved ARRT program or current validated ARRT Registry in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of RIS and PACS systems.
