Job description

General Description

Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Radiologic Technologist participates in the clerical and technical work components of the department in accordance with office policies and procedures and prescribed radiation safety procedures. The Radiologic Technologist maintains patient confidentiality and ensures that the delivery of radiology services is professional, timely and accurate at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Escorts patients to and from the x-ray room.
  • Takes x-rays as directed by ordering physician.
  • Sets up studies on digital imaging CR unit and DR unit.
  • Schedules, documents and coordinates out-patient ultrasounds, when ordered.
  • Provides CD of images, when requested.
  • Reports problems with CR and DR units to Supervisor.
  • Notifies supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Maintains a clean and well organized work area at all times.
  • Will be cross trained in mild reception duties

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be flexible with weekly work schedule, along with a willingness to travel to our 4 OSG OrthoFast offices when required (Milford, Fairfield, Monroe, Shelton)
  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry.
  • Connecticut Radiography license required.
  • NEW GRADS welcomed to apply.
  • Experience in Orthopedics a plus.
  • Experience with both CR/DR imaging preferred.
