Qualifications

Job Description

Orlando Regional Medical Center is adding to our team of Rad Techs dedicated to meeting all the imaging needs of our community. ORMC is a patient-focused hospital with a strong emphasis on teamwork and inclusiveness. We consistently provide exceptional care by treating our patients like family. Our Rad Techs go above and beyond to achieve the best image quality possible. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, you will quickly learn about all aspects of a quality x-ray department. Our knowledgeable Rad Techs operate multiple specialty equipment (O-ARM, CIOS, OMEGA, ZEIHM) to ensure all the different Centers and Institutes we support operate effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  1. Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  2. Exercises professional judgment and maintains a demeanor that reflects quality care.
  3. Provides appropriate patient care, recognizing patient conditions to ensure successful procedures.
  4. Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations for each modality.
  5. Adheres to Orlando Health's mission and standards of excellence.
  6. Assesses the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
  7. Provides clear instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  8. Performs proper patient identification, gathers clinical history, and documents information accurately.
  9. Positions patients and equipment, manipulates technical factors to produce high-quality images.
  10. Assesses images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is demonstrated.
  11. Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
  12. Participates in Quality Control standards and tasks.
  13. Proficient in contrast medication administration and manages adverse reactions or emergencies.
  14. Uses standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross-contamination.
  15. Supervises student technologists and trains new technologists.
  16. Utilizes all Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  17. Ensures safety for all patients and staff.
  18. Maintains regular, punctual attendance per policies and standards.
  19. Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Graduated or graduating from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification

  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist license by the State of Florida.
  • Valid ARRT certification.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
