This position includes a $5/hour premium in addition to the base hourly rate.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Positions patient and performs imaging procedures. Analyzes results, identifies issues with image quality, and takes appropriate action, including repositioning and repeating procedures. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results. (40%)
2. Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. (20%)
3. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications when ordered, within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes. (20%)
4. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards, performs quality control procedures, and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions as necessary. (20%)
5. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; OR six months to one-year related experience and/or training; OR equivalent education and experience.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification required within 12 months of hire.
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred

• Prior radiology experience
