This position includes a $5/hour premium in addition to the base hourly rate.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. It involves performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Position the patient and perform imaging procedures. Analyze results, identify issues with image quality, and take appropriate action to resolve them, including repositioning the patient and repeating procedures. Enter, transmit, and report scan results. (40%)
2. Review patient history and physician's orders. Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. (20%)
3. Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered. Monitor patient condition and report/respond to changes as appropriate. (20%)
4. Prepare equipment and supplies. Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoot and report malfunctions as necessary. (20%)
5. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; OR six months to one-year related experience and/or training; OR equivalent education and experience.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification required within 12 months of hire.
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred

• Prior radiology experience
