Job summary

Geisinger in Scranton, PA seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to perform imaging procedures, ensure patient safety, and document results accurately. You will work under licensed practitioners to acquire diagnostic data and assist with interventional MR procedures.

The role requires ARRT-MR (or ARMRIT/NMTCB alternatives), a Radiologic Technology program diploma, and at least 2 years of related work experience. A robust benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures correct patient identification, preparation, and accurate documentation.
  • Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol, optimizes factors, and applies ALARA principles.
  • Preparing and/or administering medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluates images for quality and manages data transfer/post-processing as needed.
  • Educates and monitors students and other health care providers.
  • Applies magnetic resonance safety principles to minimize risk.
  • Assists the licensed practitioner with MR interventional procedures.
  • Performs MR imaging procedures as prescribed.
  • Selects pulse sequences per established protocols and data acquisition factors.
  • Participates in quality or process improvement activities.

Job Summary

Up to $25,000 sign on bonus for eligible applicants!! Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for the use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. MRI technologists performs magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyzes data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Magnetic resonance technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Magnetic resonance technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to medications in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.

Job Duties
  • Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  • Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
  • Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
  • Applying principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
  • Assisting the licensed practitioner with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.
  • Performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Selecting appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
  • Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities.
  • Fully proficient in all assigned routine and complex job duties.
  • Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities.

  • Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and (ARRT)-MR
  • Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and ARMRIT
Education

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)

Experience

Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Required)
