Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a qualified MRI Technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures and assist licensed practitioners in diagnosis and treatment. You will prepare and document medications when applicable and ensure data accuracy and patient safety.

Responsibilities include protocol optimization, image quality evaluation, and contributing to education for students and staff within a clinical setting.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification and MR certification (ARRT-MR) or ARMRIT.
  • Alternate NMTCB MR credentials (NMTCB+ARRT-MR) or NMTCB+ARMRIT.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper patient identification and exam setup per protocol.
  • Apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety and care.
  • Prepare and/or administer medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluate images for quality and ensure data is archived/transferred.
  • Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.

Job Summary

Up to $25,000 sign on bonus for eligible applicants!! Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for the use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. MRI technologists performs magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyzes data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. MRI technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Magnetic resonance technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to medications in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.

Job Duties

Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.Applying principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.Assisting the licensed practitioner with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.Performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.Selecting appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities.Fully proficient in all assigned routine and complex job duties.Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities.

Education

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)
