Job Description

Harborview Medical Center – Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST, MRI.

Department Description

Advanced diagnostic imaging, specialized clinical expertise. Radiology Services at Harborview Medical Center offers a full complement of radiology tests and imaging procedures, including nuclear medicine and interventional radiology (angiography).

Primary Job Responsibilities

Prepares patients for examinations, explains the procedure and answers patients' questions. Screens patients for any contraindication to MRI exam.

Reviews patient medical history on exam request, consults physician as necessary to ensure proper exam for each patient.

Prescribes proper scanning parameters for the most common MRI exams with the assistance of documented or computer‑prescribed protocols. Determines optimal imaging options for most common MRI exams to minimize artifacts and decrease scan time. Post processes if needed. Calculates and administers appropriate contrast for exam.

Administers contrast under supervision of Radiologist.

Ensures that patients are properly scheduled in Radiology Information System (RIS), and exams are completed with proper billing.

Ensures that exam is filmed, archived and sent to PACS properly.

Monitors equipment to ensure a diagnostic exam.

Troubleshoots and repairs basic system malfunctions.

Practices equipment safety policies and procedures.

Restocks rooms of all supplies as needed.

Performs related duties as required.

Required Position Qualifications

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum: $49.02 hourly

Pay Range Maximum: $76.67 hourly

Other Compensation: Certification Pay Premium (for ARRT‑R‑MRI): Additional $1.25/hr. Weekend Premium (if applicable): Additional $2.50/hr. Night Shift Differential (if applicable): Additional $2.75/hr.
