Job summary

The position requires ARRT certification or registry-eligibility, VA state license, BLS, and a two-year radiologic technology program, with prior teaching or supervision experience

Qualifications

• ARRT registered or registry-eligible; must pass Registry examination within one year of hire.
• Completion of accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• VA State Radiologic Technologist License is required for all outpatient facilities.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Three years relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for radiology examinations by confirming physicians’ orders, verifying patients’ identities, and obtaining medical histories.
• Performs radiology examinations on all patient age groups and maintains clinical competency.
• Adheres to departmental policies and ensures safe, quality patient care.
• Maintains safety and radiation protection practices for patients and staff.
• Provides supervision and instruction to students and participates in the Radiology cross-training program.
• Documents patient and procedural data for accurate billing and records.
• Maintains competency in iSite PACs, syngo, Soarian and other image management systems.
• Participates in PDCA LEAN-based Performance Improvement activities.
