Job DescriptionTo direct the daily operations of the diagnostic radiology area, being responsible for technologists' daily assignments and productivity. Functions as a technologist.
Responsibilities1. Performs duties of a radiologic technologist as needed, maintaining efficient and safe practices for quality patient care.
2. Determines and delegates staff assignments and adjusts resources where needed to maintain safe and efficient operations. Works cooperatively with these areas to provide quality service.
- Works closely with the scheduling team to assure fair staffing practices, team member satisfaction, and coverage of shifts necessary for uncompromised patient care in a 24/7 operation.
- Maintains efficient operations by assuring adequate supplies are available for appropriate patient care.
- Follows and holds staff accountable to uphold our core values and to maintain the organizational and departmental standards of conduct.
- Oversees work of clerical staff and maintains front desk workflow.
Responsible for distributing and returning monthly radiation monitor badges.
3. Possesses working knowledge to maintain smooth operation of all department workflows, and reliable use of computer systems such as EPIC, McKesson, Kronos, and TCHPOINT. Is competent with all office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, scanners, phones and printers.
4. Assists the supervisor and manager to maintain staffing competency and equipment reliability.
- Participates in all departmental process improvement initiatives by supporting compliance audits, evaluating professional standards, and setting and evaluating expectations.
- Provides feedback to supervisor for building and administering staff evaluations.
Updates and maintains up-to-date procedures in accordance with approved policies and related professional compliance ODH and Joint Commission standards.
5. Performs other duties as required or directed by the supervisor and manager, including participation in routine staff, management, and network operations.
6. Additional tasks and responsibilities include accessing patient records as necessary for medical imaging operations, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with policies. Access is limited to records pertinent to patient care or regulatory requirements and is documented appropriately.

QualificationsEDUCATION: Graduation from an ARRT accredited radiologic technology school, and/or completed on-the-job training allowing certification.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years' experience as a certified radiologic technologist.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of radiation safety, medical terminology, infection prevention, sterile techniques, patient positioning, and equipment operation.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography
- Ohio Department of Health Radiologic Licensure
- CPR certification.
