Position Summary

One of the region’s largest orthopedic and sports medicine providers, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s team of orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians specialize in conditions and injuries of the spine, hand, upper extremities, foot, ankle, and lower extremities, as well as joint replacement, concussions, interventional pain management, bone health, and orthopedic trauma. The institute’s Downtown Complex includes an orthopedic specialty hospital with 75 private inpatient rooms, 10 advanced OR suites, and a research and innovation center with a bio skills lab and 3D printer. The institute also leads clinical research and education programs. An adjacent medical pavilion houses outpatient clinics, imaging, physical therapy, and an ambulatory surgery center. Position Summary
The Radiology Technologist provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices; manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
  • Participates in Quality Control standards and tasks.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
  • Valid ARRT certification.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
