Job summary

Sentara Health in Charlottesville, VA seeks an experienced Radiologic Technologist to perform general diagnostic imaging procedures under the direction of a qualified physician. You will position patients, operate radiology equipment and electronic radiology systems, prepare rooms and supplies, and document examinations while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

ARRT certification is required; trade school diploma or equivalent is acceptable, and registry eligibility with timely certification

Responsibilities

• Perform general diagnostic radiologic imaging under physician supervision.
• Position patients for correct anatomy/pathology demonstrations.
• Operate radiation-producing equipment and electronic radiology systems.
• Prepare patient room, equipment and medications; maintain inventory.
• Complete documentation of examinations; ensure patient safety.

Overview

Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation.

Education

• TS - Trade School Graduate
• Certification/Licensure: ARRT certification
• Will consider registry eligible graduates who have additional experience in fluoroscopy; must be registered within 180 days of hire.
