Job summary

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center seeks a Radiology Technologist - Acute to join our REMARKABLE acute care team. The role requires ARRT(R) certification in Radiography, with state licensure as needed, and a background in diagnostic radiology.

Strong communication, attention to detail, and ALARA safety practices are essential. Education includes a high school diploma or GED with ARRT-approved radiography training; 2-year/associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• ARRT(R) certification in Radiography is required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiography Program with licensure as applicable.
• 2-year/associate degree preferred for advancement.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures per licensed guidance.
• Safely operate imaging equipment and monitor radiation exposure using ALARA principles.
• Assist licensed practitioners with intraoperative and mobile procedures including ERCPs and bronchoscopy where applicable.
• Maintain equipment readiness and coordinate with team for emergent imaging needs.

Overview of Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program. Certification required within 6 months of hire post-graduation from an accredited Radiology Program, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic radiology, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R), required. Applicable state licensure as required, required. Post-graduates from an accredited Radiology Program with be required to pass their ARRT registry within 6 months of completing program, required
• Additional Skills (required): Applies principles of ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patient, self, and others. Demonstrates current knowledge of federal and state radiation safety laws. Properly utilizes personnel monitoring devices. Ensures proper equipment performance and schedules maintenance for emergent needs. Properly operates radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. Independently performs radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures, including intraoperative and mobile procedures, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Assists a licensed practitioner in the performance of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including all intraoperative and mobile procedures including the following: ERCP's, bronchoscopy, mini-c-arms, post reductions. Mobile imaging including lines and pacers and neonates.
