Job Description

Performs routine and STAT radiographic examinations and DEXA exams.

Responsibilities
  1. Takes radiographs per physician orders.
  2. 95% of films are satisfactory as measured by repeat rate.
  3. Completes exams following procedures outlined in the routine book, including signing out requests with correct information.
  4. Requests contain pertinent patient history.
  5. Versatile within the diagnostic department of Radiology.
  6. Works independently in the radiography and dexa rooms.
  7. Protects patients and staff from unnecessary radiation, using appropriate technical factors and shielding.
  8. Ensures all films have coning and lead orientation markers.
  9. Knowledge of front desk operations, computer systems, and reporting equipment issues.
  10. Schedules exams and interacts professionally with other departments.
  11. Calls in on-call imaging staff as needed.
  12. Reports equipment problems to clinical engineering and alerts managers if necessary.
  13. Performs additional duties as assigned and remains available for assignments.
  14. Assists Radiologic Technologist Students.
  15. Participates in equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance, ordering supplies, staff scheduling, and audits.
  16. Access to patient records is limited to necessary functions, maintaining confidentiality.
  17. Documents record access appropriately.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills: Graduation from ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent experience. Knowledge of medical terminology, sterile techniques, patient positioning, and operation of x-ray equipment.

Licenses & Certifications: Must have ARRT certification in Radiology and obtain Ohio Radiographer license within 4 weeks of employment.
