Job Description

Freestanding Emergency Room in Arlington, TX is seeking to hire CT/Radiology Technologists / Rad tech / RT for PRN Day shift.

Job Summary:

The Radiology Technologist operates radiologic equipment to produce radiography and CT scans of the body for diagnostic purposes. Additionally, the Radiology Technologist assists physicians and registered nurses with basic patient care within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Nursing Director.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides supportive care to patients under the direction of the registered nurse in charge and/or physician.
  • Performs patient skill sets such as taking height and weight measurements, vital signs, IV initiations, blood draws, and documentation to assist the nurse and physician with patient care.
  • Performs diagnostic testing using x-ray and/or CT equipment in accordance with protocol.
  • Produces quality images and uploads them for radiology reads/interpretations.
  • Applies proper techniques and practices while performing diagnostic testing using radiology equipment and lab procedures.
  • Reports lab and radiology results immediately to the registered nurse and/or physician.
  • Assists registered nurses and physicians with assessments, examinations, and treatment.
  • Performs other duties such as crutch walking, dressing changes, and assisting with splint or cast application.
  • Assists with moving, ambulating, and lifting patients as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with documentation and with coworkers, patients, visitors, and physicians.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and readiness of the radiology department and rooms between patients.
  • May assist in office duties such as registration, filing, and data entry as needed.
  • Monitors and restocks supplies.
  • Maintains compliance with policies and procedures established by regulatory standards.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attends staff meetings and training sessions regularly.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Nurse Director.
Professional Requirements:
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance.
  • Maintains required certifications and licenses.
  • Protects patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Follows all regulatory requirements for radiology and lab procedures.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Participates in staff meetings and upholds the organization’s mission and ethics.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s degree in Applied Science or equivalent from an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a Radiology Technologist, preferably in a hospital or emergency room setting.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:
  • ARRT Certification required.
  • CPR/BLS Certification required.
  • Current license from the Texas Department of State Health Service for Radiology Technologist required.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to bend, lift, twist, and stand/walk for up to 12 hours daily.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues and hazardous conditions.
Schedule:

Day shift, PRN schedules available, including weekends as needed. 12-hour shifts.
