This position is a full-time onsite opportunity based in the greater Chicagoland area, with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000.

Job Overview

As a Radiology Technician Special Procedures within the Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab departments, you will perform general radiographic procedures, assist with fluoroscopy, and support radiology students. You will work under the supervision of the Chief Technologist – Interventional Radiology, assisting with specialized procedures requiring advanced training.

Essential Responsibilities

• Complete patient orders accurately
• Perform daily quality control on equipment
• Follow radiation safety standards
• Check examination quality and repeat as necessary
• Report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain patient history and prepare for procedures
• Administer contrast materials as required
• Assist radiologists during IR procedures
• Ensure patient safety and comfort, explaining procedures and protocols

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
• Certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Active Radiography accreditation with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety

Preferred Skills

• Thorough knowledge of interventional radiology equipment
• Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to problems
