Job description

Be a heart hero! Join our Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory as a Radiology Technologist and help physicians diagnose and treat heart disease every day.

The Mission

You'll be the technical backbone of the cath lab. You'll operate X-ray, fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, and specialized cardiac equipment, and you'll bring working knowledge of invasive cardiac procedures to every case. Working under physician supervision, you'll serve as first or second assist, prepare patients and equipment, and support essential interventions such as stent placement, balloon angioplasty, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) insertion, and Impella insertion.

What You'll Do
  • Lead procedural support: Prepare the lab and patients, and assist the physician with coronary angiography, aortic stenosis studies, right heart catheterizations, and interventions.
  • Operate advanced imaging: Run intracardiac and intravascular ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and other imaging systems, while handling venous and arterial catheters and wires.
  • Monitor and interpret: Track ECG, blood pressure, and heart rate, calculate hemodynamic and physiologic values, and interpret and record waveforms. You'll also retrieve and analyze procedural imaging and data.
  • Support the physician directly: Under direct orders, position, inflate, and deflate balloons and stents, and assist with balloon, catheter, sheath, and wire exchanges. You'll also help with mechanical atherectomy, thrombectomy, and intravascular lithotripsy devices.
  • Care for access sites: Perform and manage post-arterial and venous access care, including closure devices and manual compression. You'll also relay patient history to the physician clearly and in line with pre- and post-procedure policies.
  • Keep the record precise: Document every case accurately, verify procedure logs, and help physicians complete procedure reports.
  • Own the equipment: Operate and troubleshoot complex cath lab systems, including Impella, IABP, Angio-Jet, ACT, Hemochron, OCT, IVUS, RFR, IFR, FFR, CathWorks, CSI, and IVL, following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Champion radiation safety: Maintain current radiation safety quality control and take part in annual radiation safety training.

  • A willingness to train the right person who's eager to grow
Your Superpowers
  • Strong knowledge of coronary anatomy, interventional devices, and procedural techniques
  • The ability to anticipate what the physician needs and respond quickly in critical moments
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • High technical competency with imaging systems, intraprocedural monitoring, and arterial and venous access management
