Performs radiographic examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist, coordinating daily activities and performing clerical duties.

Essential Functions

• Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Documents patient history related to procedures as submitted by physicians.
• Verifies patient identity verbally and through proof of identity.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
• Consults with radiologists and physicians as necessary.
• Selects and operates appropriate equipment, demonstrating correct positioning skills.
• Maintains records according to departmental standards.

Physical Requirements

Requires physical effort assisting patients, handling equipment, and monitoring supplies. Good communication skills are necessary. May involve stretching, bending, kneeling, and operating radiographic equipment. Visual and auditory acuity are required, and exposure to physical conditions like walking, climbing stairs, and temperature changes is common.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Successful completion of an AMA-accredited Radiology Tech Program, ARRT registration, and BLS certification from AHA are required. New graduates must be registry eligible and complete registration within one year of hire.
