Atrium Health Kings Mountain, a facility of Atrium Health Cleveland, opened in 1951 as Kings Mountain Hospital. It has earned national recognition for patient care and clinical excellence. This 67-bed hospital offers a broad range of services, including 24/7 emergency care, behavioral health, and rehabilitation.

Performs patient care duties and other activities to facilitate treatment, under supervision of a radiology technologist. Assists in managing patient flow within the department.

Essential Functions

  • Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
  • Assists patients with questions about procedures and prepares them for exams, ensuring safety in the absence of a technologist.
  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media as directed by licensed practitioners or certified staff.
  • Supports physicians and technologists in diagnostic exams across modalities such as Rad/Fluoro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound, including contrast procedures.
  • Retrieves patient orders and requisitions, supporting administrative workflows in RIS, EMR, or other applications.
  • Assists patients with toileting and other clinical needs as required.
  • Contributes to administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, and compliance requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requires moderate to heavy lifting, standing, walking, and sitting. May involve stretching, bending, squatting, or kneeling. Exposure to various physical conditions, including moving equipment and walking on hard surfaces. Adheres to radiation safety, MRI safety, and infection control guidelines.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

High School Diploma or GED; coursework toward a medical imaging certificate or degree preferred. Clinical experience related to educational background; clerical skills are a plus.
