Job Summary

Performs various patient care duties and professional activities to facilitate patient care and treatment, under the supervision of a radiology technologist. Assists in monitoring patient activities within the department.

Essential Functions
  • Performs basic diagnostic x-rays under supervision.
  • Assists patients with questions regarding procedures.
  • Prepares patients for exams and ensures safety in the absence of the technologist.
  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media as directed for administration by licensed practitioners or certified personnel.
  • Supports physicians and technologists in diagnostic exams across various modalities (Rad/Fluoro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound), including contrast media procedures.
  • Retrieves patient orders and requisitions in RIS, EMR, or other workflow applications.
  • Assists patients with bathroom needs and other clinical support tasks.
  • Supports administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, and compliance requirements.
Physical Requirements

Requires moderate to heavy lifting and moving of patients, equipment, and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting. Frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling. May be exposed to physical conditions like walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and moving equipment. Must follow radiation safety, MRI safety, and infection control guidelines.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

High School Diploma or GED, with preliminary coursework in a medical imaging field. Clinical experience aligned with educational pursuits in medical imaging. Medical clerical skills are preferred.
