A leading healthcare provider in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join their team. The role involves performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, processing lab tests, and ensuring patient safety through adherence to clinical protocols. Applicants should possess ARRT certification and have a comprehensive understanding of lab procedures. This job supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by performing general diagnostic radiographic procedures to any part of the human body. This position also processes lab tests, performs venipuncture, and where applicable, maintains all requirements of a CLIA-approved lab.
Job Duties
Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.
Department Specific Duties
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of all general radiographer policies and procedures.
Demonstrated competence with film and digital processing.
Ability to perform venipuncture and laboratory procedures up to and including moderately complex labs.
Professional Experience
General diagnostic x-ray experience preferred. Laboratory experience, to include venipuncture and performing moderately complex laboratory procedures preferred.
Education
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification Required. Associates degree in radiologic technology preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Iowa Permit to Practice Radiography required.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
Current certification in Basic Life Support, in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required. Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date.

Ability to accurately read measurements on patient related equipment—some examples include: thermometers, mechanical gauges, glucometers, IV pumps, and computer monitor displays.
Work requires analyzing data and figures, use of computer terminal and extensive reading.
Worker must be able to visually assess patients’ safety needs.
Normal visual acuity required to maintain accuracy and neatness of work.
Preparing and reading written documentation, use of computer.
