Radiology Technologist - Anderson - Full Time Days

Job Description

Performs routine radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable examinations in the diagnostic department of Radiology, on nursing units, outpatient areas, and the surgery department.

Responsibilities
  1. Takes radiographs per physician orders.
  2. Aim for a 95% satisfactory film rate as measured by repeat rate.
  3. Completes exams following procedures outlined in the routine book, including signing out requests with correct information.
  4. Ensures requests contain relevant patient history.
  5. Works versatile within the diagnostic department of Radiology, including routine room, IVP, fluoroscopy, portable (C-arm and routine radiograph), and GU.
  6. Performs all exams listed in the routine book.
  7. Protects patients and staff from unnecessary radiation, using appropriate technical factors and shielding.
  8. Uses lead orientation markers and coning on all films.
  9. Knowledge of front desk operations, computer systems, and reports equipment issues.
  10. Schedules exams and interacts professionally with other departments.
  11. Calls in on-call imaging staff as needed.
  12. Reports equipment problems to clinical engineering and alerts managers when necessary.
  13. Performs duties related to equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance, supply ordering, staff scheduling, and audits.
  14. Accesses patient records only as necessary for duties, maintaining confidentiality.
  15. Documents record access appropriately.
  16. Supports Radiologic Technologist Students and other assigned duties.
  17. Qualifications include graduation from an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program, knowledge of medical terminology, sterile techniques, patient positioning, and operation of radiology equipment. Must have ARRT certification and obtain a valid Ohio license within 4 weeks of starting.
