Qualifications

• Associates Degree Radiology Required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in care and maintenance of Diagnostic Radiology equipment.
• Sets up and adjusts Diagnostic Radiology equipment per radiologist protocol for exam.
• Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using ALARA standards.
• Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image.
• Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies.
• Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
• Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Assists in the administration and administers various medications under the direction of a physician to render specific organs or systems more opaque.
• Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the department to perform examinations.
• Assists with examination of higher complexity such as myelograms, lumbar puncture etc.
• Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students.
• Displays superior interpersonal skills with patients and peers.
• Performs various clerical duties.
