Job description

Primary Responsibilities


  1. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to operate X-ray unit to provide images and complex data for determining medical treatment/diagnosis.

  2. Manage patient workflow for X-ray and Bone Density patients.

  3. Maintain a professional and clean environment for the X-ray and Bone Density Departments at all times.

  4. Monitor RIS for all walk-in procedures; schedule procedures; and review insurance coverage before a procedure is performed.

  5. Ensure customer service is provided in a timely manner.

  6. Ensure all procedures in X-ray are interpreted promptly.

  7. Consult with supervisor or manager for problem solving and/or procedural changes.

  8. Report incidents within 24 hours.

  9. Coordinate daily cleaning and preventive maintenance of X-ray equipment.

  10. Assist with developing, reviewing, and updating X-ray protocols and procedures.

  11. Evaluate X-ray protocols periodically, under Radiologists' guidance, for quality assurance and additional projection needs.

  12. Serve as a mentor and resource to train less experienced technologists.

  13. Maintain a safe working environment.

  14. Ensure compliance of X-ray and Bone Density Departments with all applicable State and Federal regulations.

  15. Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate late add-on patients.

  16. Adhere to Radiology and Clinic Policies, Procedures, and the Code of Conduct.

  17. Perform other related duties as needed.

Background Requirements:


  • Education, Experience, and Knowledge

  1. Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.

  2. Registered Radiologic Technologist by the ARRT (ARRT-R).

  3. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

  4. Ability to lift and maneuver patients, with assistance if needed.

  • Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent organizational skills.

  2. Strong customer service skills.

  3. Effective coordination of multiple projects.

  4. Knowledge of all Radiology procedures and scheduling on Synapse RIS.

  5. Analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem solving.

  6. Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, and telephone etiquette.

  7. Proficiency in PC, MS Office, and data entry in RIS scheduling.

  8. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
