Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist will work under the supervision of the Director and/or designee. Performs routine and some special procedure imaging, prepares patients, assists Radiologists, and maintains equipment. Adheres to radiology standards of care and radiation protection principles. Responsible for assigned duties, including quality assurance and performing diagnostic and special procedure images.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Prepares and positions patients correctly, documents images and questionnaires.
2. Produces high-quality images, reviews exams for completeness.
3. Assists physicians during procedures.
4. Performs equipment quality assurance, calibrations, and orders supplies.
5. May work holidays, overtime, and various shifts to ensure coverage.
6. Processes images and prints CDs as needed.
7. Performs routine office tasks such as patient check-in and communication documentation.
8. Displays films, calls reports, and documents communications.
9. Provides clinical instructions to students.
10. Provides care tailored to patient age and psychosocial needs, including neonate to geriatric populations.
11. Participates in coverage rotation to other outpatient sites.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program or hospital-based training. NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required, along with ARRT-RT certification and/or registered RT (R).
• DOH IV certification preferred or achieved through a 6-month orientation.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
