Job summary

UPMC Somerset is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist to perform a variety of imaging procedures with independent judgment in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role requires ARRT certification, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate documentation in electronic records.

The position offers full-time hours, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends across Daylight, Evening, and Night shifts. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in performing a range of radiologic imaging procedures.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and comfort during imaging.
• Ability to work independently following department protocols.
• Maintains accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol.
• Review orders and patient history to select appropriate imaging protocols.
• Document history and procedures in electronic health records as needed.
• Administer contrast as ordered and per policy.
• Ensure exams are coded, tracked, and billed correctly.
• Perform radiography procedures with established protocols and equipment.
• Operate imaging equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic data.
• Communicate clearly with patients and team members to reduce anxiety.
