Job summary

AdventHealth in The Villages, FL is seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist to join our team. The role performs radiology duties across departments, including OR and fluoroscopy, while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. Strong communication and infection control practices are essential.

Requires ARRT RT(R), BLS certification, 2+ years of radiology experience, and a High School Grad with Associate or Bachelor's preferred. Day shift, full-time with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred for Radiologic Technology.
• High School Grad or Equiv required to start.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in radiology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R)) ARRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Maintains room cleanliness, proper stocking, and documentation for radiologist support.
• Monitors patient condition, ensures safety, comfort, and privacy during procedures.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and adheres to established protocols.
• Obtains patient history and explains procedures to patients.

Job Description:

Up to a $10,000 Sign-on Bonus Available

• Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents.
• Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.
• Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
• Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Obtains and documents patient history and explain procedures.
• Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Performs all imaging exams using established protocols and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.
• Uses facility policy for proper identification of patients prior to performing exams and educates patients concerning the exam.
• Screens patients properly for any contrast allergies and for childbearing age, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Positions patients and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist’s standards in a safe, timely manner.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
• Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education:

• Associate or Bachelor's [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 2+ years experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]
