Job summary

AdventHealth in The Villages, Florida is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging studies, ensuring patient safety and comfort while delivering high-quality radiographs. You will work across departments, follow protocols, and maintain equipment and documentation for radiologist support.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, ARRT RT(R) certification, BLS, and good English communication. A focus on infection control, patient care, and teamwork in a full-time daytime setting is

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, equipment operation and quality control to ensure accurate information.
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and radiographic equipment operation.
• Effective communication with patients, family, staff and physicians.
• Knowledge of healthcare concepts and procedures.
• Ability to use radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiology scans in all departments and environments following established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients and equipment to produce quality images.
• Document patient history and explain procedures to patients.
• Ensure safety, privacy and comfort of patients during imaging.
• Operate scanners, injectors, monitors and related equipment safely.
• Educate patients about the exam and identify patients prior to imaging.
• Maintain infection control and proper PPE usage.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Up to a $10,000 Sign-on Bonus Available

• Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents.
• Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.
• Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
• Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Obtains and documents patient history and explain procedures.
• Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Performs all imaging exams using established protocols and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.
• Uses facility policy for proper identification of patients prior to performing exams and educates patients concerning the exam.
• Screens patients properly for any contrast allergies and for childbearing age, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Positions patients and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist’s standards in a safe, timely manner.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
• Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education

• Associate or Bachelor's [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 2+ years experience [Required]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]

Pay Range
