Job summary

CHAS Health in Washington seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform X-ray procedures, ensure image quality, and support patient safety across CHAS sites.

The role requires current WA state licensure, ARRT registration or eligibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment. Compensation includes extensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Current Washington State license to practice as a Radiology Technologist.
  • Must be registered with ARRT, or registry eligible and obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains fixed x-ray equipment.
  • Positions patient and ensures proper tube-to-film alignment for patient safety.
  • Processes film and files examinations per departmental procedures.
  • Sends films to designated consultants as required.
  • Ensures compliance with radiation safety standards.
  • Routes films to CHAS sites and manages film studies with providers.
  • Documents and performs related clerical duties.
  • Performs front desk duties as needed.

Job Description

Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing radiologic technology service as follows:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates and maintains fixed x-ray equipment.
  • Positions patient and employs proper tube-part-film alignments and collimation for maximum patient protection.
  • Processes film and file completed examinations according to established departmental procedures.
  • Sends films to designated consultants as required.
  • Complies with and enforce radiation and safety standards.
  • Routes films to CHAS sites; ensures appropriate tracking of films sent and received; responsible for requesting, managing and returning film studies from other facilities as requested by providers.
  • Provides complete documentation and perform related clerical duties as needed.
  • Perform front desk duties as needed.
  • Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Qualifications

Education/Experience: Current Washington State license to practice as a Radiology Technologist. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or be registry eligible and obtained within 6 months of hire. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, techniques of operating x-ray and other diagnostic imaging equipment, radiographic positioning, basic patient care and procedures required.

Skills: Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills required. Compassion for patients required. Must be able to work well in team environment. Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment required. Computer skills required. BLS (CPR/AED) required. Valid drivers’ license, insurance and vehicle required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required.

Physical Demands

Radiology Technologists are required to stand, sit, and be mobile one-third to two-thirds of the time. They are required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over two-thirds of the time, as well as reach with hands and arms. Climbing or balancing occurs less than one-third of the time; while stooping, kneeling or crouching occurs between one-third and two-thirds of the day. Communicating by talking/hearing occurs over two-thirds of the day.
