Qualifications

• Associate's degree in radiologic technology required or preferred.
• Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology.
• Must demonstrate critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current license/certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders; educate patient about procedures and equipment.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Ensure safety standards; perform quality control and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedures; analyze results and address image quality concerns.
• Enter, transmit and report scan results; perform additional duties as assigned.

Canyon Vista Medical Center is located in the beautiful high desert of southeastern Arizona, committed to serve residents in Sierra Vista, Ft. Huachuca, Cochise County - a population of more than 131,000 people, and our surrounding communities. We're comfortably nestled in the San Pedro River Valley, 75 miles southeast of Tucson. Canyon Vista Medical Center was founded in 1963 as Western Baptist Osteopathic Hospital on what was then the eastern edge of Sierra Vista. Growth and advancing technology dictated building our new 177,000 square foot hospital at 5700 E Hwy 90 completed in 2015.

How you'll contribute

A Radiology Technologist who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
• Performs other duties as assigned in scope.
