A leading hospital is seeking a Radiographer to perform critical diagnostic imaging procedures under the direction of the Radiologist. This role involves working with patients of all types and requires relevant licenses and knowledge of specialized imaging modalities. A pleasant demeanor and ability to work independently are essential for success in this position.
Under the direction of the Radiologist and the Director of Imaging, the Radiographer performs diagnostic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The technologist must be able to perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative, including the application of prescribed ionizing radiation when required. They are responsible for performing these duties for emergency patients, inpatients, and outpatients presenting to the imaging department. The technologist must be pleasant, courteous, and cheerful to patients, physicians, and hospital staff at all times, regardless of hour or situation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge & Experience
Skills - Verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills are required.
Knowledge - Sagittal and cross-sectional anatomy, and knowledge of imaging specialized modalities.
Education - An Indiana State Department of Health License and an ARRT License are required. Additional certification may be required for additional modalities.
Experience - No previous experience required for Radiology; CT experience is required. Cross-training is required for special modalities.
Authority and Accountability
Must be able to work with and properly handle different types of people.
