Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and produce high-quality diagnostic images under physician orders across multiple clinical areas.

Join a Level I Trauma Center environment where patient safety, accurate imaging, and clear communication are essential. ARRT certification and graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program are required, with strong teamwork and adaptability valued.

Responsibilities

  • Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to produce diagnostic images.
  • Support multiple clinical areas across the hospital.
  • Document diagnostic information in the EMR.
  • Review imaging findings with physicians and specialists.
  • Set exposure, angles, and distances according to exam specifications.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients.

As a Radiologic Technologist at our Raleigh Campus, you’ll be part of a high-performing team supporting a nationally recognized Level I Trauma Center, where your expertise directly contributes to life‑saving care.

What you'll be doing

As a Radiologic Technologist, you’ll operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to produce high‑quality diagnostic images under the direct order of a physician. You’ll support multiple clinical areas across the hospital, including:

    • Emergency Department
    • Operating Room
    • Pediatrics
    • Fluoroscopy
    • Portable Imaging
    • Outpatient Procedures
  • Producing clear, accurate radiographs and maintaining strong image quality using radiologic or magnetic imaging equipment.
  • Ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures; communicating any changes or abnormalities promptly.
  • Adjusting equipment per protocols, performing minor maintenance, and reporting major issues.
  • Documenting diagnostic information accurately within the electronic medical record.
  • Working closely with physicians and specialists in reviewing imaging findings.
  • Setting proper exposure, angles, and distances according to exam specifications.
  • Reviewing orders, preparing equipment, and prioritizing workflow to ensure efficiency.
  • Explaining procedures in a clear, calming way to support patient understanding and ease anxiety.
