Job summary

McLaren Health Care, based in Grand Blanc, Michigan, seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform imaging procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures and under general supervision.

Responsibilities include positioning patients, operating X-ray equipment, delivering quality imaging, explaining procedures to patients, and adhering to radiation safety and QA processes; required qualifications include AMA-approved radiology program, ARRT certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of AMA-approved Radiology Technology program.
• ARRT certification and current BLS certification required.
• Associate's Degree in radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gives straight-forward explanations and instructions to foster comfort and confidence for patients.
• Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including X-Ray.
• Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to capture images as ordered by a physician.
• Accurately performs all imaging exams in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; ensures physician on duty is notified of results.
• Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.

Position Summary: Performs a variety of imaging procedures consistent with established policies & procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gives straight-forward explanations and instructions to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
• Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray.
• Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
• Accurately performs all imaging exams as ordered in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
• Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology
• Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• Current BLS certification

• Associate’s Degree in radiology
