Job summary

Nebraska Medicine's Midtown Health Center Clinic is hiring a Radiology Technologist – Ambulatory to join our team. You will perform diagnostic X-rays, room patients, administer injections and oral medications, and assist with procedures in a busy clinic setting.

We value strong patient service and require a JRCERT-accredited radiology program, ARRT certification, Nebraska state radiographer license, and BLS. Prior radiology experience in a physician office is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have JRCERT-accredited radiology program completion.
  • ARRT certification (any specialty) or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Nebraska state Radiographer license required.
  • BLS certification endorsed by AHA upon orientation.
  • Medication Aid Registry or completed within first 30 days if meds are administered.
  • Preferred: Medical assistant program graduate.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients for provider visits and coordinate x-ray timing.
  • Perform injections and administer oral medications as needed.
  • Assist with procedures and draw lab specimens.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments.

Radiology Technologist – Ambulatory
Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Radiology Technologist - Ambulatory. This role will be great for someone that has a passion for radiology and great customer service for our patients we serve.This Radiology Technologist position will work at our Midtown Health Center Clinic.

The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for X-rays as well as other duties for the clinic. As an Ambulatory Radiology Technologist, you would complete ordered x-rays within the clinic as well as being responsible for rooming patients, giving medications, and drawing labs. Every day brings something different. We have fun, friendly staff and Providers and a new building with room to grow. Join our team now!

Job expectations:
  • Would be assigned to room for a Provider or 2 in clinic, when x-rays are ordered then would hand off patients to co-worker to complete x-rays

  • Rooming

  • Injections (medications, vaccines)

  • Oral medications

  • Assisting with procedures

  • Lab draws

  • Calling to coordinate referral appointments

  • Other clinical tasks as assigned

Shift:Radiology Technologist
  • Full Time and benefits eligible (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week)

  • Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts / 8:00 AM - 5:00PM

  • No weekends/ No Call

  • Location: Midtown Health Center Clinic / Blackstone Area

Radiology Technologist – Ambulatory Description:

Provide expert diagnostic radiological imaging and patient care to assure a high level of quality care and service to patients, under the direction of licensed practitioners. Promote efficient operation of the clinic, and provide assistance to physicians and support staff.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in radiology required.

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills required.

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or ability to obtain ARRT certification, in all practice specialty areas, within one year 1 of hire or transfer date required.

  • Nebraska state Radiographer license or limited license required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation required.

  • If required to administer medications, current Medication Aid Registry listing or completed within first 30 days of hire or transfer date, and maintained thereafter required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in diagnostic radiology procedures preferred.

  • Experience in a physician's office preferred.

  • Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program preferred.

  • Ability to manage and interact with patients and families of all age groups preferred.

  • Experience with multi-dimensional medical imaging systems, patient transportation devices, and radiology information system and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) preferred.

  • Medical assistant certification preferred.
