Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking an experienced Radiology Tech to perform imaging procedures in a fully integrated health care system.

The role requires operating and maintaining imaging equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring high-quality, compliant exams. Candidates must have ARRT certification, a relevant AMA-approved program diploma, and current BLS. Schedule is full-time, with daily hours 7:00 AM–3:30 PM in an on-site facility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures clearly to comfort patients and meet their needs.
  • Operate and maintain radiology department equipment including x-ray.
  • Position patients to capture requested images per physician orders.
  • Perform imaging exams per policies, regulations, and laws; notify physician on duty of results.
  • Complete QA processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure.
  • Maintain documentation and logs in paper and electronic formats.
  • Maintain supplies and perform routine maintenance checks.
  • Perform other related duties as required and directed.

Position Summary: Performs a variety of imaging procedures consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Gives straightforward explanations and instructions to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
  • Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to x-ray.
  • Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
  • Accurately performs all imaging exams as ordered in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
  • Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.
  • Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.
  • Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current BLS certification .
