Job summary

Optum is seeking a Radiologic Technologist in Oregon to perform diagnostic X-rays and routine procedures under providers’ direction. The role requires ARRT certification, an Oregon diagnostic radiography license, and AMA-accredited radiologic training. CT experience and EMR familiarity are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Position patients and adjust equipment for taking X-rays following procedures.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures.
  • Follow safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
  • Select radiation exposure levels for each patient.
  • Examine radiologic images for density, contrast, and distortion.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning and report malfunctions.
  • Process routine paperwork.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Participate in professional development and affiliations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position serves the patients, providers and other support staff by performing tests using the appropriate radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic X-rays and performing routine diagnostic procedures as directed by providers.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking X-rays following established procedures
  • Instructs patients regarding procedures
  • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating all required radiologic equipment
  • Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis
  • Examines radiologic images for properties such as density, contrast, definition, magnification and distortion
  • Insures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor
  • Processes routine paperwork
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications - External
Required Qualifications:
  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved (2+ years) school and meets the requirements for registry by the ARRT
  • Current Oregon license in diagnostic radiography
  • Current certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Healthcare provider level CPR/BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CT experience
  • Experience with an electronic medical record system

The hourly pay for this role will range from $23.89 to $42.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
