Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic imaging procedures and ensure patient safety according to ALARA principles.

The role requires knowledge of ER, OR, and fluoroscopic imaging, proficient patient care, and accurate documentation in EMR/PACS. ARRT RT(R) certification and BLS are required, with strong communication and teamwork skills expected.

Qualifications

  • High School grad or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree preferred; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Active ARRT RT(R) certification and BLS required.
  • Experience with radiology software and EMR/PACS systems preferred.
  • Ability to learn and apply radiation safety principles and ALARA.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely.
  • Performs direct patient care within technologist scope; monitor patient and ensure infection control.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and equipment is safe and calibrated.
  • Notify appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR/PACS and patient records.
  • Cross-train into advanced modalities as needed; collaborate with team.

Job Description:
  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
  • Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner. Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of ER, OR, and Fluoroscopic imaging procedures [Required]
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions [Required]
  • Ability to determine appropriate technical factors [Required]
  • Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety [Required]
  • Ability to communicate effectively, coordinate staff, and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]
  • Ability to multi-task under stress while dealing with large customer volumes [Required]
  • Good organizational skills [Required]
  • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking [Required]
  • Fluent in the English language and able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Required; additional skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook [Preferred]
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Preferred]
  • Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff [Required]
  • Adult/and child/infant CPR [Required]
  • Deemed competent to perform in two modalities in Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
