Job summary

Avera Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging and efficient workflow in the radiology department. The role includes performing radiographic and CT procedures, processing images, and coordinating with radiologists under supervision.

Responsibilities involve on-call shifts, adherence to safety protocols, and mentoring staff and students. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 may be available for eligible candidates, with on-site work in the Dells area

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or certificate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT certification required (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiology procedures accurately and efficiently according to standards.
  • Initiates appropriate intervention when immediate attention is needed for an exam.
  • Ensures proper indications are reviewed and reports inappropriate indications.
  • Provides complete exam data for interpretation by radiologist.
  • Operates PACS, RIS, HIS/EMR systems and performs clerical tasks.
  • Archives and transmits images to radiologist group; retrieves images as needed.
  • Maintains safety, confidentiality, and department policies; supports orientation and training.

Location: Avera Dells Area Health Hospital Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on-call involvement (United States of America)

Pay Range: The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience. $26.75 - $40.00

A Brief Overview

Accountable for the proficient operations of the radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians.

What you will do
  • Performs various radiology procedures accurately, efficiently and according to established standards and protocols.
  • Initiates proper intervention to radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention.
  • Reviews appropriate indications for exams ordered and reports inappropriate indications to supervisor.
  • Provides exam data in a complete and accurate format for presentation to reading radiologist for interpretation.
  • Utilizes computer systems such as PACS, RIS, HIS EMR systems and performs general clerical duties.
  • Archives image data for permanent storage and appropriately sends images to radiologist group. Retrieves stored images form PACS or disc back-up and make CDs successfully.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of medical and legal implications and responsibilities related to the imagine reports and images to protect the patient and the organization.
  • Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, and environment and infection control.
  • Assists/mentors staff/student with on the job training, clinical rotations and orientation.
  • Assists with analysis, collection and maintenance of records as required by department manager, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR standards, OSHA guidelines or as may be required by the facility or law.

  • Associate's or a certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
