Job summary

Shriners Children’s Chicago is seeking a full-time Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging for pediatric patients. You will ensure accurate positioning and high-quality images, collaborating with radiologists and physicians to support diagnosis and treatment.

Required credentials include an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT certification, and BLS, with state licensure. Prior pediatric experience and CT/MRI certification are preferred for this role in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Radiologic Technologist license valid in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Position patients to produce diagnostic radiographs with accuracy.
• Work closely with radiologists and physicians to interpret images.
• Document and communicate imaging results to the care team.
• Maintain communication with patients, parents, and staff.
• Verify orders for accuracy and clarify with provider if needed.
• Adhere to ALARA and safety regulations for imaging procedures.

This may include fractures, diseases, and abnormalities of patient anatomy.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality radiographic image is produced.Works closely with radiologists and physicians who interpret images to either diagnose or rule out disease or injury.Responsible for communication and documentation of patient images.Maintain communication with patients, parents, and medical personnel.Assesses orders for accuracy and clarifies with provider prior to imaging, if necessary (correct patient, correct CPT code, correct body part, correct side, correct views).Practices appropriate radiation safety as designated in Federal and State Radiation Control Regulations.
