Radiology Technologist – Virginia Beach, Virginia

Pay From: $30 per hour

Overview

We are seeking a positive, friendly Radiology Technologist to join our team. Must be available to work three 12-hour shifts or flex hours to include evenings and every other weekend.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by keeping up with continuing education and ongoing learning.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; provide explanations of treatment; answer questions.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning patients; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting exposure factors.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam-restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; follow drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs (e.g., contrast media); administer first aid and use the emergency cart when needed.
  • Collaborate with other clinical staff and physicians to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Complete all required paperwork for each procedure or radiographic exam, including any studies the facility may be participating in.
  • Assist in retrieving and stocking supplies for procedures.
Qualifications
  • Experienced X-ray Technician; one year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed to practice as Radiologic Technologist or a Limited Radiologic Technologist by the state of Virginia.
  • Willing to help out in all areas of the office.
  • Limited Radiologic Technologist must be licensed to practice in chest/thorax, extremities, skull/sinuses, spine and abdomen/pelvis.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a small group, but be a team player.
