Job summary

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff, serving the Johns Hopkins Health System, seeks an experienced Radiology Tech for invasive radiologic procedures at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. The role supports critical surgical environments and requires ARRT certification, Maryland radiography licensure, and BLS CPR certification.

Schedule is 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Wednesday through Saturday, with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma with a two year technical college and an Associate Degree.
• ARRT certified with current registration required.
• Radiography license by the Maryland Board of Physicians required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• At least one experience as a Radiologic Technician, and some experience with IR.

Responsibilities

• Consistently operates radiographic equipment and imaging systems to obtain diagnostic images.
• Delivers minimal dose levels to the patient while ensuring radiation safety.
• Maintains image quality and formats films per IRC/INR guidelines.
• Reviews formatted films for quality and accuracy after procedures.
• Operates hemodynamic monitoring systems where applicable.

Pay Rate

• $47 - $49

• Consistently operates radiographic equipment and imaging systems as demonstrated by ability to perform required procedures.
• Proficiently operates all ancillary equipment as outlined in the developmental resume tool.
• Effectively and efficiently operates all emergency equipment such as defibrillator as demonstrated by participating in emergency events.
• Delivers minimal dose levels to the patient while still achieving diagnostic images. Consistently ensures physicians practice radiation safety and comprehends dose level parameters.
• Anticipates panning requirements, prior to physician’s requests. Collimates/filters in appropriate situations. Requires minimal input or direction from physicians.
• Ensures all staff in procedure room is properly protected and are educated in ionizing radiation standards. Provides instructions/suggestions related to methods of reducing team members’ radiation exposure levels.
• Ensures acquired films are formatted according to IRC/INR guidelines.
• Reviews formatted films to ensure image quality after each procedure.
• Takes appropriate action to rectify poor film quality. Seeks assistance to improve image quality or formatting skills when necessary.
• Competent to operate the hemodynamic monitoring systems where applicable.
• Complies with IRC/INR guidelines to ensure accurate input of information into database systems.
