Job summary

Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Radiology Technologist for PRN shifts. The role involves reviewing orders, educating patients, and performing imaging procedures with strict safety and quality controls.

Qualified candidates will be graduate or registry-eligible in Radiologic Technology, with 6 months of Rad Tech experience preferred and AHA BLS certification. Registration within 3 months of graduation is required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or Registry Eligible Radiologic Technologist of an educational program in Radiologic Technology.
  • 6 months experience as Rad Tech - Preferred.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
  • Registry Eligible Technologist must be registered within three (3) months of graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders; educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope; monitors patient condition and reports changes.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters; follows safety standards and quality control procedures; troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures; analyzes results and addresses image quality issues; repositions as needed; enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

How You'll Contribute

A Radiology Technologist who excels in this role:

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educate patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. What We're Looking For

Graduate or Registry Eligible Radiologic Technologist of an educational program in Radiologic Technology.

Minimum Work Experience

New Rad Tech Graduates considered.

Additional Requirements Include

6 months experience as Rad Tech - Preferred.
